Where scientists, engineers, and tech professionals explore the human side of career successRaw conversations about leadership transitions, career pivots, and building work that matters—for professionals trained in technical fields.
Scientists, engineers, and tech professionals don't often talk openly about career uncertainty, leadership struggles, or wanting something different from their careers. These conversations happen in private—or not at all.The Heart of the Equation was created as a space for these conversations. We discuss what doesn't get talked about enough in technical environments: considering a career pivot, questioning whether you want to stay technical, managing burnout, transitioning into leadership, or thinking about starting your own practice.

In 2024, I worked with many scientists, engineers, and tech professionals navigating similar challenges: questioning their next career move, considering leadership transitions, or exploring independent work. The same themes emerged repeatedly—but these were conversations people had in private coaching sessions, not with their colleagues or professional networks.
I connected with two friends—Anisa and Pragati—who shared the same engineering background and recognised the same gap: technical professionals need space to discuss these transitions openly. As engineers ourselves, we understand what it's like to question your path when everyone around you seems certain. We know the tension between stability and wanting something different. The Heart of the Equation is that space—for conversations that matter but rarely happen publicly. Our careers started in engineering, data science, and pharma.Like many technical professionals, we reached points where we questioned what came next—and made transitions that didn't follow the standard technical career path.
We've navigated leadership roles, career pivots, and entrepreneurship. Now we're creating space for these conversations.
